FS launched its massive recruiting campaign out of fear that Nova would come back but it seems that ship has sailed... but hey, take more from Sunshine, RR, just slap on a cap and grab a rifle and just keep on growing that FS militia:

Edward Snowden did not tell us anything new, per se; what he did was bluntly air America's dirty laundry to the rest of the world. There's no doubt that everyone is spying on everybody (remember: Countries don't have friends, they have interests), but for the details to be aired in public with the Snowden leak was openly showing what many did not want to see.
From the German view, this move may very well have been part of Germany's angst at the lack of a meaningful U.S. response to Putin in the Ukraine. Or perhaps this was a concession to the left-wing elements of her hodge-podge coalition: That's a big reason why Merkel backstabbed David Cameron in the Juncker affair. Coupled with Polish angst at the U.S. as well, there is no doubt Putin is looking at this situation with glee.
