New player Some old Questions

Hi all im new to the game and would like to play a tank class. I am posting here to ask if there is anything i should know in particular starting the game. Such as, what to do to make money leveling or if going a tank as my first toon is not smart because i don't have money to gear Ect. Anything you can offer would be great i want to start this game asap. Im just worried about being able to make money for gear.
