Path of Awakening not working

I have not played since Kain was still a server. Did my research, followed the quest line and hit level 41 really fast. I read to use the exchange items for c grade soulshots only because I can get good gear from the Path of Awakening. So I exited the game, waited a little bit then logged on my account and went to path of awakening and after selecting my server and toon there was no option to select the rewards. At the very bottom of web page it says, "

* Your character has surpassed this milestone prior to GD launch, so is not Eligible for rewards.

You can start a new character if you would like to earn this reward."





Umm this is a new character.....a new account......
