1. There is a great dilemma in L2. It's the dilemma of item upgrade.
Gears in Lineage2 get old as time goes by and players look to something new, something more than R99, Bloody and Dark...but the problem is, if L2 introduces new higher level gears then the market price for R99, Bloody and Dark crashes, turning them into just garbage; and that will certainly piss off all the HardCore L2 players who also happen to be the Major Nstore Shoppers. I think NCsoft wants to upgrade the gears too, it's just that they are afraid they would lose most of their Best Royal VIP customers if they did...
On the other hand, I see top players leaving this game simply because they are bored with this game and nothing new in the game any more....Same ***** different days...they say....
So what to do?
SIMPLE!
Dragon Weapons! and Dragon Gears!
In the next major update, give R99 weapons an option to upgrade to Dragon weapons! Yes it's about time! I am sure this will keep people busy for the next 2-3 years at least. Make it something like, normal R99 weapons can't be upgraded to Dragon weapons, but Blessed weapons have 30% chance, Bloody or Dark have 50%, +7 bloody or dark = 70%, +10 bloody or dark = 90% and +12 = 100%, 15+ = LvL2 Dragon weapon!
I am pretty sure this will make a lot of people happy and players who invested a lot already will gladly accept the change.
2. Arena instance
Olympiad and COC are nice but how about making an Arena fights in L2?
Players can make a party of 2, 3, 5 and do
2 vs 2, 3 vs 3, 5 vs 5 Arena fights.(it's just like Arena in WOW)
You just make a party and queue for arena and when your queue is up, an icon appears on the window asking you to enter the arena---> Click 'Yes' ----> you move to Arena instantly, and you fight as a small group!
Well, I am sure people will enjoy this and if the Reward list is good, then yeah I am certain this will make the game far more interesting!
3. WarZone instance
2 party command channel warzones, 4 party wazones, and 7 party warzones.
You can either make the full command channel parties or queue as an individual to join a random warzone party. The moment you enter, your enemies Id all apprear as RED and you can fight freely for fun in the warzones. (think of Alterac valley in WOW)

Runewords in Diablo 2?
How about bringing the Runewords from Diablo2 into L2?
Players can get Runes with their arena or warzone points and get to make Runewords.
Jah + Ith + Ber = Enigma
Ko + Vex + Pul + Thul = Hoto (heart of the Ox)
Dol + Um + Ber + Ist = COH(Chains of Honor)
with a random chance of it being 50%~100%, and 100% being better than Dragon gears?!!
I am sure people can enjoy this!
Also...to make things far more interesting...I would divide Dark elf + Kamael + Orcs vs Human + elves + Ertheia permanently with only Dwarves remaining neutral until LvL 85 awakening, then they have to choose one side. Two factions always in the state of war! the more you kill = the more pK points you get = More runes you can collect!
