I would like to see NCWest host a new P2P server that does NOT have RMT/microtransactions--that is, WITHOUT the in-game or out-of-game NCoin/Hero Coin shop.
L2 being a 10+ year old game in its twilight years, you probably would want to offer something more than the old $15/month. I think a base $5/month would be great, perhaps with the option to scale up to $10/month for +100% XP/SP/drop/spoil, $15/month for +200%, $20/month for +300%, or something like that.
I think the F2P (P2W) model has ruined this game. Cosmetic and XP items are fine, but the combat stat boosting item sales are deplorable. Events like the current elemental shirt promo take P2W to a whole new level: Gamble to Win. There are countless online gambling outlets for those who like to roll the dice with real money, why do we have to poison L2? The whole thing makes me long for the good old days of P2P.
I read that NCWest is raking in a lot more money than it was pre-GoD, but their adoption of the F2P/P2W/G2W model has to have created a P2P hole in the market that can and will be filled elsewhere. And how much trouble would it really be to host a P2P server anyways?
