About Shield Deflect Magic

Hello!! Can anyone explain me how does this skill work exactly?



Shield Deflect Magic:



For 8 seconds, transfers magical damage back to the enemy caster.



Does it work by chance or is it 100%? % of Damage back? If I'm stuck and skill is activated, I take damage anyway?
