Hunting Grounds Etiquette

If I'm grinding in a spot and someone comes into it, who's responsibility is it to say hi? I'm looking for some feedback because I've had a few incidents escalate to ridiculous levels lately and I'm wondering if I should be greeting everyone who enters my spot or else they can justify treating me like a bot and ks'ing or griefing without ever saying hi themselves.



Like they assume I'm a bot cuz I don't say hi, and I assume they're a bot cuz they don't say hi, and then we're treating each other like worthless bots when we're both real people, which we only realize after we've been griefing/pvp'ing for a half hour back and forth!



So anyway, is there any consensus on this matter? The disputes don't typically result in good pvp, just getting jumped with mobs on you type stuff and your iss box ends up dead but you get out and come back to repeat the same on them. Waste of time, really.
