I want to know if this game is still worth my time

Just as the title says, I am curious if it's ok for me to start L2 on the official server.

I'm hoping that you guys can tell me if I could start based on some things that I could tell you about myself and based on some questions that I have.

1. About myself: I personally enjoy taking my time to explore and meeting new people. Pretty much like getting lost in the middle of nowhere, finding another lost guy and running around. I like grinding, but not too much, spending 2 hours on grinding is way more than enough. Xp through questing would be ok. I prefer having money in my pocket rather than leveling up to 85 in 2 days, but it would be nice if I could have money in my pocket without necessarily being a dwarf. I also like to farm in places that are not overcrowded, but to feel that I am playing in a relatively "live world", not a world in which bots flood the trade channel.

2. A set of questions:

- how much does it take to reach lvl 85? and how much 100?

- is this game still 100% buff dependent? if so, do I have good buffs from NPC and up to which lvl?

- is the game populated up to lvl 85 at least? (last time I made a char like 6 months ago Talking Island, Gludio and Dion were empty but flooded by bots in trade chat)

- the gear I can buy from NPCs is up to which grade? C? B? A?

- can I make money with classes different from dwarves? (I personally enjoyed Kamaels a lot, no hatred pls)

- are clans helpful? or just academy, then forget that you exist?

- can I quest lvl-up up to lvl 85? or something decent like 76?

- supposing that I invested real money, would it be worth it? would I have some good gear/ good lvl-up etc?

I know it's a lot of info to cover, I pretty much thank you if you managed to read up to this point, but I am having mixed feelings about L2. I like it, but I also think it's a massive time-consuming grindfest that has nothing to offer apart from that, so I really need to know if I could take it up again or not.

Peace. And thank you again.
