I'll explain the situation again since I managed to figure out the main source of the problem.
Apparently GameGuard is messing around with L2. As I previously described:
1. I start L2 and track its progress in task manager.
2. L2 seems to be consuming more and more resources until it reaches 268k.
3. Once it reaches 268k, GameGuard kicks in and prevents L2 from consuming more resources.
4. If I end GameGuard task, L2 presses on and reaches 296k. And that's when the game starts.
Now there are 2 outcomes here:
a. Login screen appears, but it tells me that I should send .apl files to a certain email because of a GameGuard error (error not specified).
b. Game starts, my screen is black, but I do have L2 specific cursor, which at least means that the game is trying to run. But this situation just prompts me to reboot, because I cannot access task manager or close the L2 client.
Now here's my question:
How can I make L2 Launcher NOT interfere with all files in L2?
I've tried every solution related to GG issues that I could find. I deleted files, deleted GG, switched L2.bin to L2.exe so I don't need to start the game with Launcher, but whenever I start the game, all the files that I've deleted are just forced back into L2. There's literally no way to get rid of them. Gameguard, Options.ini, .apl files, they all just appear back where they belong. What can I do?
Also sent a support ticket, but it's been over 24 hours now. :)
