Thank you all for your love and support.
Instead of discussing the game balance on how the game, Lineage2 should be, and how it can be improved, I have decided to provide something more useful this time.
Some gentle guide for all the new people, or the returned old L2 players who are bewildered by the new system, I have decided to write in this post.
So for all your L2 players out there who are just too tired of baby-sitting
the Noobzors, noob-cakes in your clan academy, now you can just direct their attention to this 'Gentle Guide for Noobs' so you don't have to answer their every single question! LOL
Chapter 1. How to Choose a Character
There are 8 classes in Lineage2.
Some small differences among the same class depending on
the race of your choice, but in reality they are all about the same.
8 x Classes in the order of recommendation
1. Aeore - Healer
2. Wynn - summoner
3. Iss - buffer
4. Sigel - tank
5. Yul - archer
6. Othell - dagger
7. Tyrr - warrior
8. Feoh - Wizzard
1. Aeore - healer: an excellent choice for noobs who don't
have a lot of adena, and likes to party with people, socialize and
learn about the game. Just get a mentor and become level 85
+ awakening = Free Requiem staff + immortal robe = all you need.
(when you become 85 and do the awakening quest at talking island,
you get 'mentee graduation certificate' by mail; you go to the mentor
guide NPC next to newbie buffer located in every town, and exchage the
certificate for 40 x diploma, then you can get free R-grade gears
from the same NPC)
As long as no1 dies, and you manage your mana well, gears don't matter.
Among all classes, Healers are very popular, the moment you become
awakened healer, everybody will invite you, and put you on their
friend's list for party invite later.
But the downside is...sometimes healers can be kinda boring....
you get to watch other people doing the action, having fun, and you are just there to support them...and watch.
Healer is an excellent class for noobs who don't know what to do
and don't have a lot of adena but likes to play with people.
2. Wynn - summoner
another excellent choice for noobs who don't have
a lot of adena, and likes to solo + do some party play.
Although not as popular as healers for party play just a DD
(damage dealer), and there are many other DDS out there,
summoners are probably #1 in solo play.
you don't need much gear to do the damage, your summoned
minions do all the killing.
As a summoner, you can solo your level all the way to level 99
and beyond.
There are 3 gear set-ups for summoners depending on how much adena
you have,
1. Tauti-2H Blunt - best weapon for summoner
your passive skill doubles the damage of 2-H blunt and transfers it
to your minions. + all the options on Tauti. (but Tauit = 15Bil-20Bil)
2. 2H-Retri - 2nd best set-up for the summoner.
your minions attack with beast shots, and you just cast 4 x marks
- don't even need Spirit shots cuz spirit shots don't add extra
damage for marks.
3. Bow - people whose main is archer can use their bow
and light armor(same gear set-up as Yul) for summoner play too.
Send the minions for attack and attack with bow(Shots not really
required..you just attack to add some extra damage)
What's good about summoners - i.e. don't need much gear to play,
can also be the downside....after a certain point, no matter how
much adena you pour into the summoner character, there is
not much difference or improvement...
In short, an excellent class for noobs with not much adena.
3. ISS - buffer
Basically same type of idea as healer, also in demand for party play
and not as much mental pressure as healer class(what makes a good
healer = excellent situational awareness, gotta watch people's HP
all the time...etc...= can never be AFK during the game)
85 ISS is good enough with immortal set but later on...
ISS class later on needs good set of armors.
The main function of ISS class
= buff + debuff: e.g -40% p.def/ -40% M.def on mobs
and you will get hit by mobs until someone gets the aggro.
4. Tank - Excellent choice for party play
- very much in demand in high level, 97+
All you need is a good set of armors and weapons don't really matter.
basically same idea as ISS, as a matter of fact tank and iss
can share exactly the same gears, which is why many people
do tank/iss combo for their main/dual choice.
but if you like solo play you can do so as well, but will need some
proper set-up.
AQ ring + Baium + crit hat = you are pretty much like Tyrr class,
Actually with Vaguard skill + attack aura will make you
do more damage than Tyrr
(I have Main Sigel hell knight/Dual Tyrr Duelist and tank with
attack set-up kills faster than the Tyrr....WTF? LOL)
Yul - archer: excellent choice for both solo + party.
Archers do ridiculous damage with their skills...which means
they don't need much gear either...possibly just the weapon,
a good bow all they need...they are ranged...and most mobs
die before they even come close.
The only downside is you gotta play the piano with your left hand
all the time when you play your archer.
but when you become the end game archer with boss jwls
(AQ, Baium, earth-worm...etc.) and +12 bloody bow...
your auto shots do more damage than your skill shots,
so you can just point and shoot and all of a sudden,
it's a new world for archer play....
Othell - don't really recommend it for newbies...
Because dagger class is close melee, they need both good weapon
+ good set of armors with full elemental.
Best in 1 on 1 PvP since the beginning of L2
(I am sure Sayha Seers is getting nuffed if not already)
Tyrr - don't recommend for newbies and also experienced players.
Tyrr class needs good weapon + armor + Boss JWLS
(AQ ring + Baium menditory) i.e. pretty much everything...cuz
most of your damage comes from auto-attack, and you still don't
invites to party cuz you don't have the half-kills like rogue.
Doombringers and WarLords are a bit better though.
but in general, don't recommned it for newbies...unless
you really really really like the class.
Feoh - don't recommend it for newbies at all for one simple reason.
R-grade Spirit shots = 770 + adena
You will be lucky if you break even as you level up.
Someone suggested to use S80 and get 1-ncoin shots(2,000 S-shots)
and use it...well...S80 has so low magic power....to match
the R-grade, it needs to be 16+ enchanted...
Besides, at level 99 even with +8 dark set(Best PvP set) +
Level 5 diamond + anakim + full buff, a well gear archer will single
shot and kill you with 50-60K damage per shot.
It's a good class to power level other classes though...
AOE seems pretty good.
It's a good class to carry other classes from 85-95 but other than
that....not a good class at the moment.
Enjoy what you can!
And remember~Level is only a number!
Take it easy all~
