Dimensional items...

So, it's been about 3 yrs since I've played and I was wondering...it seems like the gear (armor/weapons) are only acquired for free now, via the "daily award" system, thus making it impossible to transfer to another character on the same account now? It used to be possible when gear showed up, while on the path to awakening, AT the dimensional merchant, then you COULD transfer/send to another char. on the same account...is this no longer possible?
