After like a 1 year of break I decide to return to L2 because for me is still the best MMO with a good pvp system, I tried FF XIV and TERA and I ended always returning to L2, mostly because I left a character lv 95 so I don't have the patient either the time to start other MMO from the scratch. I returned like a month ago, I haven't play since Glory days update.
One the reason why I decided to keep playing is because all the instance have a good EXP buff, from 95 to 99 took me 1 month only doing instances so basically playing 1 hour per day. My dream as a casual player, of course spending cash on EXP scroll etc...
Then I check up all the items in the L2 store are now are extremely expensive, I still remember when in GOD the destiny pack came with a huge pile of other items. So it came into my mind why the are the prices so high right now? And there is way less people than in GOD.
So of course I think the answer is just that l2 became a really hardcore game casino, where you can easily expend hundred of dollars to enchant that weapon.
If the prices are high is because there is people willing to pay for it, so I doubt that NCwest gonna reduce prices. And I believe that NCWEST prefer people expending thousand per month than having more people playing and receive a lower income, is OK is they way of make business.
But how far it can go? I really would like to know how much people are spending on this game.
So far after almost 2 month playing I spend around 200 usd and I want to kill myself to allow me to expend so much money on this game. But then after reading on my ally, clan and forums how much people expend I got really surprise, some people spending 1000 euros per month. Is OK I am not gonna judge anyone because I can find 1000 ways to spend money in a worse way.
But a quick reminder if people are spending let say 1000usd per month, the business model of the game will be configure in a way that the person keep paying that amount on a monthly basis, that mean all the rare items are gonna be really hard to get, even impossible if you play for free.
I can allow myself spending 100usd top per month, and I dont see my self full dark and boss jewelry at least in a year or even more.
If the game keep at this pace most likely I will ended up quiting again. I would love spend 100usd per month but if I see only 300 scroll freya and 1 spirit stone, most likely I would not spend money here.
