Dear fellow players and game dev-artists team,
do allow me to express some thoughts regarding the visuals of the game.
To the point (there's a lot of great stuff you've been designing but-), I'm tired of all the exaggerated sexualization of the way female characters are decipted in the game (and games in general).
I'm playing a Kamael Yul Archer lvl 87 atm, and I am still wearing my A grade Majestic Armor because it looks (awesome..! thanks for this one and...decent<----!) but cmoon...why must I pay appearance stones to keep the looks and have better performance?
I really don't see your imagination at work regarding the armors in general also...what you do is that you generally modify some parts or colors, but you don't really do something new in regards of design...you are preeetty good at substracting but really stagnant at adding up...you've done some amazing job with the lvl 99 bloody eternal but seriously, it doesn't seem like you are giving it too much thought...I'm an artist too and from my point of you, sorry but you are being LAZY and unimaginative.
At least, give armors some extra options like alternative versions, color modifications or underwear that can actually -dress up- the character, so people can actually have a wider gama of choises on how their character is presented visually.
Why did you have to destroy the looks of girl dwarf also? What's this with the pedophelia looks of the armor? Would you have your 10 year old daughter walking around with armor-stockings? This is so perverted! And don't start the excuses about fantasy and the freedom of the artist because there are boundaries ...one could kill someone because it's free will that doesn't give him the right to do it.
Seriously ppl at NCsoft you are pushig the lines too far (also with all the occult sumbols etc), and I'm seriously thinking of submitting report to the council of Europe because you don't respect women and also promote pervertion through the game visuals.
Games are supposed to be fan for everyone (not just male players, and if male player's fun is limited to watching naked female characters hack and slach ...that's limited IQ).
I have been an old school L2 player, I love the game but I cannot be tolarent anymore about these issues. Kids are growing up playing MMORPGs, visuals are strong enough to create stereotypes and shape thoughts and minds, even subconsiously. You are carrying great social responsibility upon your shoulders which you don't seem to care about at all, rather than just making money by selling out digital flesh.
Women consist the 46% of the gaming community nowdays. Even if you want to just sell your product, take the marketing numbers into consideration.
Recently I participated as a trainer in program against hate speech in video games. I presented L2 as an example of MMORPGs, a lot of our women participants liked the game but didn't like the female armors because they said it was more like "victoria secret lingerie" rather than armor itself. Imagine how much more female players the game could attract if you payed more serious attention to existant issues like this.
