help with my BISHOP I'm new

Hi guys, I'm a bishop level 41 in Bartz and I have read how to equip my bishop, and everyone says robe, but the robe doesn't give me anything really, with light armor I get 100% casting speed and that's what I need so I don't understand why? Why is every bishop wearing robes? With robe my casting speed is 450 with light armor 800
