Lineage - after 10 years - has "sold out" with this expansion.
Lineage has always been about the player earning a reward, giving you the feeling of accomplishment because of YOUR input, but now it's drastically losing that feeling e.g. I've played everyday in some way the past few months, but since the expansion I've played once and I've noticed I've totally lost the urge to login.
I'm a semi-old player who played on a private server years ago (iDragon3D for anyone who knows it) and then on official servers, the expansion has essentially killed the game for me completely all because of silly small things:
- Quest locations are automatically placed at the top of the list at the Gatekeeper. I straight away felt like the game was thinking for me, sorry, the game was thinking for me. Just get rid of quest text altogether if that's the case; since reading where you had to go, checking the map, and clicking that town/area was just too much apparently and it needed changed.
- World Chat; not even going to say anything.
- Ridiculous nerfs on repeat quests drops and adena.
- Female only race. So what if someone hates making female characters? Like myself - is it a case of 'screw me' because someone will say I'm sexist for that?
These small little changes have ruined the pull Lineage had for me, and I'm sure I'm not alone. There's absolutely no MMO out there anymore that is an actual RPG and makes the world feel like a realistic place to be in - makes me uber sad, but also glad as I was going to buy NCoin before the expansion and I'm super glad I didn't.
Anyone else have a similar feeling?
